fast and fresh
A lot goes into making a good flower. Our farm in Kenya implements a workflow that ensures you will always enjoy flowers of the highest quality.
- It starts at the beginning.
- Selecting the right breed may be the most important step. Local breeders in Kenya spend years creating different types, shades, and colors of roses. We select a variety of the prettiest, hardiest flowers we can find, then graft them into our stock.
- Ensuring strong growth.
- A flower’s early days, like a human’s, are vital to its later development. The environment must be precisely controlled, allowing just the right mixture of heat, water, sun, and soil. That’s why our greenhouses are state-of-the-art, allowing specific control over every aspect of our flower’s development.
- The harvesting process.
- After the flowers have developed to their full growth, our specially-trained team of harvesters clip all the good flowers, readying them for the next step.
- Grading and packing.
- The picked flowers are arranged according to strict standards regarding stem length, color, and head size. They are wrapped in bunches with sturdy packing material to protect the heads, then packaged into boxes for international shipping.
- Arranging and shipping.
- Once the flowers arrive in the States, they are stored in a cool environment to lengthen their lifespan.
